19 Oct Taro = Purple Happiness
I grew up eating Taro in Hawai’i and now it’s trending and in EVERYTHING! I love it’s purpleness and sweet, savory taste. I found this delicious taro cheesecake with coconut and chocolate crust at Cafe 70 degrees in Culver City. As a baby, I ate poi instead of baby food. Poi is a Hawaiian dish made from the fermented root of the taro, which has been baked & pounded to a paste. It’s basically purple goo and tastes bitter but super yummy with sugar. Needless to say, I love taro!
